Why should I get x-rays at the dentist?

Return to FAQs

When a patient is seen by the dentist, the best care is provided when the dentist can see the condition of the mouth and diagnose any problems discovered. Yet, some problems may not be seen by the human eye. X-rays allow dentists to see things like hidden cavities between the teeth or detect any issues that may be occurring below the gum line such as a tooth impaction, maybe even a tooth fracture. So, it is recommended that you seek periodic X-rays with your treatment plan.
